We are very happy to announce that a date has been fixed for the OWA Golf Day on Sunday 10th October at Little Aston Golf Club. All Old Wrekinians are welcome to play, no matter what their handicap! In addition, all are welcome to attend the lunch whether you are playing or not. Please contact Philip Butler via email plbutler@btinternet.com for more details and to confirm your attendance.
Little Aston is the highest ranked Parkland Course and was also ranked number 34 overall in the Top 100 England Courses of 2019 by Golf World.
If you would like to attend the lunch, it will be served at approximately 14.30pm. The club has a new chef and the food is very good. The cost for main course and desert is £18 ( + wine of course!)
The menu is as follows:
Main: Braised beef blade & Little Aston best bitter pie. Silverskin onions, Westcombe cheddar mash & beer braised carrots.
Desert : Seasonal fruit pavlova, chantilly cream & candied ginger.
For the golfers there is a bacon bap and tea or coffee from 9am and the golf starts at 10am.
Competing for the 18 holes medal for the scratch and handicap cups.
Followed by 8 or 10 holes foursome for the Frederick Neill Trophies.
Lunch and breakfast bap is £23.50 and the golf is £70 (Well below Little Aston's normal price)
Golf for students (school or uni) is £38.50.
