We are hoping that as many people as possible from the Class of 1976 will reunite for a special 50th year anniversary reunion on Wednesday 7th October at 2pm. Initial communcations have been exceptionally well received and we already have 27 people attending some part of the celebrations. 

School Visit

We will all meet in the OWA Room, which is in the old Music School building, opposite the Upper Dining Room doors and the Windsor Gate.

There will be refreshments while everyone arrives and we assemble, and we hope some archive material to take us down memory lane. 

We are hoping to meet the new Headmaster, Steve Green, who will be very new into the job. He will tell us about his aspirations for the school and his plans for the future.

This will be followed by a tour of the school, which will show us many of the new buildings and developments that have been added since we were there 50 years ago!

Sadly, there is no rugby match for us to watch (as yet!), but there may well be training as well as other sporting fixtures taking place on the day.

The tour will finish back at the OWA Room by 5pm at the latest, allowing those attending the school visit only to depart.

Evening meal and stay - Goldstone Hall Hotel

Because 50 years is such a landmark — and one that is unlikely ever to be repeated — we wanted to continue the celebrations with an early evening meal and, for those who wish, an overnight stay and that is where OW John Cushing and Goldstone Hall stepped in.

John owns the award-winning, family-run Goldstone Hall Hotel, which is only around 15 miles north-east of Wellington. It is in a beautiful setting and, importantly for us, gives us total exclusivity for the evening.

John is preparing a wonderful menu with a distinct Shropshire theme, including canapés on arrival followed by a splendid meal.

The hotel has several drinking areas, stunning gardens and even a snooker table, giving us the perfect setting to relax, catch up with one another and, no doubt, tell a few stories that may be somewhat different from how we remember them!

For those staying overnight, there will be a hearty English breakfast the following morning before we all head our separate ways.

For those who would like to join us for the meal but not stay overnight, we will endeavour to arrange the meal early enough to allow sufficient time for everyone to travel home.

If demand for the bedrooms at Goldstone Hall exceeds availability, there is also a Premier Inn at Newport/Telford, approximately 10.6 miles away.
