Harry worked as a scientist for the Geological Survey and a member of the local Home Guard platoon in his spare time. He was killed at 72 Hurtswood Road, London, when the house was hit by high explosive ordnance dropped by enemy aircraft. His body was recovered from the rubble the following day on 19th March 1941 and was subsequently buried in Hendon Cemetery, London. At the time of his death Harry was 25 years old.
