Patrick volunteered for service on the outbreak of war with the Royal Artillery and following his commission in 1940 he was posted to Singapore in early 1941. His parents received notification via the International Red Cross in March 1942 that he had been killed in action during the fighting in Malaya, though subsequent reports suggested he had died whilst in a Japanese POW Camp. His body was never recovered and thus he was deemed to have lost his life on Monday 9th February 1942 at the age of 26. Patrick is commemorated on the Singapore Memorial, Kranji War Cemetery, Singapore.

Only son of Patrick Denison Power & Gladys Myfanwy Power of Shaldon, Devon.

Patrick is one of two OWs commemorated on this memorial.
