Memories of Wrekin
“One of my favourite activities was spending time in the art studio. I could spend hours there and often learned a new skill. I even attempted to sell my GCSE art on eBay, which was probably my first attempt at running a business, even though I didn't make any sales.”
After Wrekin
"I met a couple of my lifelong friends in Wrekin, one of whom was my Maid of Honour. For me, Wrekin was all about building a strong community and supporting each other, even during our teenage years. These values have stayed with me throughout my life. It wasn't just the students who made a difference; I also formed great relationships with several teachers. I have even given guest lectures at universities where some of these teachers now work. I never found the Western education system to be a natural fit for me as a right-brained person. However, I always appreciated how hard teachers worked to help me. When IT became a new subject, one teacher encouraged me to take an extra GCSE, and I ended up with an easy A in a subject I had never seen before. I have never forgotten the importance of supporting and nurturing talent, and this has helped me in building my own successful business."
