Henry was born on 21st November 1911 and was educated at Mill Hill and Lincoln College, Oxford. Prior to joining the teaching staff at Wrekin Henry was a teacher of Classics at Boston Grammar School (1935-1937) where he was a great sportsman and did much to raise the standard of the school cricket. Both on the football field and on the hockey field he was a great asset to his side. Known in cricketing circles as being of outstanding ability.
His battalion fought in Abyssinia and Syria, where it was captured by the Vichy French in June 1941. He lost his life at the age of 29 on Monday 16th June 1941 and was subsequently buried in Damascus Commonwealth War Cemetery, Syria.
Henry married Dorothy Elisabeth (Doffie) Rysdale of Boston, Lincolnshire, the younger daughter of the Deputy Mayor & Mayoress on 10th August 1938 and they lived at 'Lindis', Leegomery Road: only son of Sidney James Aish & Kate Aish, Bournemouth, Dorset. His widow re-married in 1956.
