Jack initially joined the Cheshire Yeomanry and became an NCO, resigning in 1938 following his marriage. In May 1939 he joined the Royal Horse Artillery as a gunner and was commissioned in 1941, A transfer to the Army Co-operation Command with a promotion to Captain followed in 1942. He saw service in North Africa, Sicily and Italy with both the 1st and 8th Armies.
Upon his return to England in September 1943 he was killed while on his way to take up a new appointment on Saturday 20th November at the age of 31. He was cremated and is remembered on the Crematorium Memorial, Landican Cemetery, Upton, Cheshire.
Father to a baby son, husband of Mary Merry Price of Hoylake, Cheshire: son of John Joseph Price & Edith Price.
