Henry was educated at Mill Hill and Lincoln College, Oxford. His battalion fought in Abyssinia and Syria, where it was captured by the Vichy French in June 1941. He lost his life at the age of 29 on Monday 16th June 1941 and was subsequently buried in Damascus Commonwealth War Cemetery, Syria.

Husband of Dorothy Elisabeth Aish (Doffie) of Boston, Lincolnshire: only son of Sidney James Aish & Kate Aish, Bournemouth, Dorset.
