Arthur played cricket for Wolverhampton Cricket Club on leaving school and also represented Staffordshire at county level.

He was killed in action prior to the fall of Singapore on Saturday 14th February 1942 at the age of 33 and one of two OWs to lie in Kranji War Cemetery, Singapore.

Son of Mein Wilkie & Winifred Tesse Ellen Wilkie.
