Andrew enlisted in the Royal Tank Corps in early 1940 following which he saw service with his regiment across North Africa from El Alamein to Tunisia.

He returned to England in early 1944 and with his battalion landed in Normandy on D-Day where it served as the divisional reconnaissance regiment until the end of the war. Andrew himself was killed on D-Day+13 [Monday 19th June 1944] at the age of 37 whilst on an advanced reconnaissance mission. He is buried in Ranville Cemetery.

Husband of Kathleen Mary Miller of Handsworth, Birmingham: son of Alexander Gunn Miller & Mary Miller.
