John Left Wrekin for RMA Sandhurst in 1938 and the following year left for India where he saw service on the NW Frontier. With his regiment he saw action against the Vichy French in Syria and also served in Persia and Iraq before joining the British Eighth Army in North Africa, where he lost his life on active service at the age of 24 on Monday 10th July 1944. He is buried in the Aleppo War Cemetery, Syria.
Elder son of Charles Skinner Watt & Doris Watt of Norwich, Norfolk.
