Edward worked for Ashworth, Mosley & Co., Chartered Accountants, in Manchester in civilian life. He was granted his commission in the early years of the war and was returning to England when he was taken ill in Nigeria where he later died at the age of 34 on Monday 25th September 1944.

He lies in Ibadan Military Cemetery, Nigeria.

Son of William Fletcher & Elsie Fletcher of Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire.
