Guy was commissioned to the Royal Artillery early in 1936 after passing out from the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. In early 1944 as a Captain in the army he transferred to the RAF with a drop in rank to Pilot Officer and based at RAF Pendeford, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire.

His death was the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound whilst off duty on the airfield on Sunday 3rd December 1944 at the age of 28.

Guy is buried in Wolverhampton Borough Cemetery, Merridale, Staffordshire.

Guy’s 55 year old father, Guy Bargo Moffat-Wilson, was serving with the Royal Army Service Corps and died on home soil on 6th June 1944: his brother, P/O Donald Moffat-Wilson was killed in action on 12th June 1944 aged 21 and is buried in Bayeux, France.
