Guy was commissioned to the Royal Artillery early in 1936 after passing out from the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. In early 1944 as a Captain in the army he transferred to the RAF with a drop in rank to Pilot Officer and based at RAF Pendeford, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire.

His death was the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound whilst off duty on the airfield on Sunday 3^rd December 1944 at the age of 28.

Guy is buried in Wolverhampton Borough Cemetery, Merridale, Staffordshire.

Guy’s 55 year old father, Guy Bargo Moffat-Wilson, was serving with the Royal Army Service Corps and died on home soil on 6^th June 1944: his brother, P/O Donald Moffat-Wilson was killed in action on 12^th June 1944 aged 21 and is buried in Bayeux, France.
