Peter was set on the Army as a career when he left Wrekin which saw him pass out from RMA Sandhurst on 28th October 1945 with a commission. After some months spent at Cairo in the study of military law and police duties he was posted to Iraq where he was killed on active service at the age of 20 on Tuesday 13th August 1946. He is buried in Basra War Cemetery, Iraq1.
Only child of Joseph John Milton & Frances Muriel Mustill Milton of Bridgnorth, Shropshire. Nephew of Mrs Gladys Kate Gordon, the second wife of the former Headmaster Walter Maxwell Gordon.
With Peter's death the Wrekin Roll of Honour relating to the Second World War was finally complete, over a year after hostilities ended.
