Wrekin students had a fantastic time on the History Battlefields trip, widening their studies beyond the classroom by seeing the battlefields of WWI.
The trip also served as an act of remembrance, as two Wrekin students played the Last Post in a ceremony at St George's Church, Ypres. This was a special moment as it is the church where the plaque commemorating the Old Wrekinians who lost their lives is dedicated.
Seeing the personal impact of WWI on the Wrekin community was a poignant way to immerse them pupils in their history studies.
